Currently, the Mission Board has the following ongoing mission activities in its purview:
Local Projects of the Mission Board:
Angel Tree Program
The Prison Fellowship Singapore Angel Tree Letters Program, formerly known as the Angel Tree Program, is our Parish’s mission involvement in the activities of the Prison Fellowship Singapore. The program seeks to foster reconciliation between incarcerated individuals and their families during the Christmas season. Through this initiative, inmates write personal and heartfelt letters to their loved ones. Church volunteers deliver these letters to loved ones of inmates, together with sponsored supermarket vouchers, offering both emotional encouragement and practical support to the families.
Food Aid Program
The Food Aid Program continues to be the parish’s signature initiative, providing essential nutritional support to nominated households from Henderson Community Club, Thomson Community Club, Singapore Indian Development Association and Prison Fellowship Singapore. Volunteers from the Parish selflessly dedicated their time and personal resources to delivering parcels, build relationships, and provide counsel and encouragement as needed.
Migrant Workers Outreach Mission
Since 2008, the Migrant Workers Outreach Mission (MWOM) has been our Parish’s response to Christ’s call to welcome and share the Gospel with migrant workers. This is done in partnership with the Tamil Methodist (Short Street) Church. This outreach involves reaching out migrant workers where they are to preach the Gospel and assist them in their needs. During the Christmas period, outreach involves going to the migrant worker dormitories for a time of carolling, games, prayer, and gift distribution, as well as hosting them in our church for a Christmas Lunch with support and involvement from all segments of the Parish.
Grace Mission
– Grace Mission is a rehabilitation and restorative care centre that provides support and guidance for the elderly and young people with special needs. In conjunction with the church’s 90th anniversary, the church commenced its partnership with Grace Mission in 2025 by supporting the monthly financial needs of four youth under the care of Grace Mission for five years.
Overseas Projects of the Mission Board:
Amberje Mission
The Mission Board continued its support of the Amberje Mission in Maharashtra, India, in collaboration with the Diocese of Mumbai. The aim of this mission is to bring the Word to the Adivasi communities, particularly in Amberje village and its surrounding areas. Our Parish sponsors the financial needs of an evangelist on the ground.
Assistance for Medical, Housing & Other Needs
– On an ad-hoc basis, requests are received by our parish for medical, financial, and housing assistance in support of varying persons and needs. The Mission Board reviews these requests before making a recommendation to the Church Executive Committee (EXCO) on the amount and type of aid to be extended to each recipient.
Mission is not merely a program or an extracurricular initiative; it is the ethos of our Parish. Ultimately, the true measure of our Parish’s mission activities lies not in the distance travelled or resources distributed, but in the transformation of both the communities we serve and the hearts of our own congregation. Looking ahead, the Mission Board stands willing and ready to embrace new mission areas, deepening existing partnerships, and continue the mission work of the Parish wherever we are called. In all these endeavours, we remain anchored by the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19:
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…”.
